This is an exciting, paid opportunity for school leavers who have a passion for journalism, and who are not going to university. Successful applicants will be paid throughout the apprenticeship, will receive journalism training, and offered a fixed-term contract at The Sun after completion of the scheme. The full details – including those of how to apply – are pasted below.
Here’s what The Sun is looking for in its apprentice journalists:
- A passion for news or sport
- Knowledge of new media – including social media
- At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grade C or above, including English
- Good command of the English language
- Confidence in your writing
- Willingness to listen and learn
- A great work ethic and be self-motivated
- Willingness to study and work simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Be presentable
- Have the right to work in the UK and the right to hold a valid passport
- Be able to live within commuting distance of south and central London
- Be willing to travel without notice
- A full driving licence is desirable but not essential

The UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) is required by the majority of University Medical and Dental schools in the UK and must be sat in the summer of 2017 by candidates who want to apply to member universities for entry in 2018 (or deferred entry in 2019).
